Hydraulic oil — pick the right grade

Always start from the machine manual or the label on the tank. If you are not sure, send us a photo.

ISO viscosity gradeISO 32 for cooler-running and many indoor systems, ISO 46 the most common all-rounder, ISO 68 for hot-running or heavily loaded systems, ISO 100 where the OEM calls for it.
HM vs HVStandard anti-wear (HM) oils suit most plant indoors. High-VI (HV) oils hold viscosity better across hot and cold — useful for outdoor mobile equipment.
Zinc vs zinc-freeSome pumps and servo-valve systems call for zinc-free (ashless) oil. Check the OEM spec before switching.
Don’t top up blindMixing different hydraulic oils can cause foaming and filter blockage. Top up with the same product, or flush when changing.

Grease — the basics that prevent bearing failures

NLGI 2 for most jobsNLGI 2 EP lithium or lithium-complex grease covers most bearings, pins and chassis points. Softer grades (0, 00) suit centralised systems.
Don’t mix thickenersLithium, lithium-complex, calcium-sulphonate and other greases are not always compatible. Purge the old grease when switching.
Moly where specifiedMolybdenum-disulphide greases help shock-loaded pins and bushes — use them where the OEM asks for them, not everywhere.
Pack to suitCartridges for the workshop, 15–18 kg pails for plant, 50 kg kegs and 180 kg drums for heavy users.

Which hydraulic oil do I need — 32, 46 or 68?

Follow the machine manual. As a rule of thumb ISO 46 is the most common; ISO 32 suits cooler or indoor systems and ISO 68 hotter, heavily loaded ones. Send us the manual page or a photo of the tank label if unsure.

Can I get Shell Tellus or Castrol Hyspin instead of Rando?

Yes — they are sourced to order — we confirm lead time, then you collect or we arrange delivery. We can also quote Caltex Rando for the same ISO grade and spec so you can compare.

Do you deliver to Germiston and Boksburg industrial areas?

Yes, from our Benoni yard. We confirm timing and minimum order on the quote.

What grease packs do you have?

Depending on the grade: cartridges, 5 kg, 15–18 kg pails, 50 kg kegs and 180 kg drums.
